Im thinking track time.. all the fender flares were heavy rocked chipped, paint was dull and almost in need of a full wet sand, had a big scratch on driver quarter panel, front air dam and a big chuck scraped on front of it.. it was a mess.. interior was solid, and engine bay looked fine, it was all paint issues, my last Z/28 with 116k miles paint was better

Was the paint that bad? Water damage? Just curious...

Why did you sell the old Z28? Not throwing stones, and not trying to pick on one guy or another... But so many people buy and sell the same car again and again. I see no desire to sell my Camaro SS, just to buy a different one a few months/years later. I could see if you were upgrading from an SS to a Zl1, or ZL1 to a Z28... But some of the guys on here have owned 5-6 different Zl1's or 2-3 Z28s... and I just don't understand the reasoning. In your case I could see that your car was high mileage and it probably made more sense to sell it and buy a lower mileage car due to cost of upkeep on a 100k mile + LS7... Not talking smack, just genuinely curious...

"buy a lower mileage car due to cost of upkeep on a 100k mile + LS7"

Any other known issues impeding this 100k threshold on LS7 aside from valve drop?

Plan to keep my Z past this. Fingers crossed...

valve drop is not even tied to the 100k mark...
btw I'm interested too, I'm not aware of anything special around the 100k mark, I think it's mostly about the "Fear" of things breaking down due to "high" mileage.

I know nothing about the Z reliability... Honestly that's the reason for the question. As far as I am aware most of these 5th gen cars, are built really well and actually quite reliable. Even the V6 cars... I am just wondering why people buy and sell them again and again. I'm guessing financial reasons but thats just speculation. That or like Void mentioned, they are just afraid that 100k is alot of miles on any vehicle. IDK. I just bought a 13 Ram 1500 with 167k miles and the Hemi runs flawlessly. I wasn't scared to buy it with that mileage either.

I think it is called sellers remorse!
Once you sell a gen 5 Camaro, you tend to regret it. I am speaking from my own experience. Having had a 2013 SS1LE, a 2015 ZL1 and now the car I will never sell, a 2015 Z28.

I concur. Driving my Z till it breaks... Hopefully, if I do move on it will not depreciate too much. GM created one of the best track focused monsters of all time. NA and manual bliss.

Our days are numbered.....992.2 Hybrid is here and 718 ICE going bye bye for 25.

I have not driven mine much since COVID. I was thinking maybe I should sell it... I finally swapped out the original battery. Then, changed the oil, then, took it out for a few long rides... Wow, back in the saddle again. So, much fun ! I could never sell this car ! There really is nothing else like it. lol.

I think some people are addicted to buying cars.

Then there are the buy low sell high car flippers who get a deal drive it for a bit then move it on.

DAMN these cars look so good in red! This car should fetch some good coin but we'll see.

Market has spoken - $68,500 for 117 mile car (ad was wrong as noted by seller in photos and comments). Seller paid $5,000 auction fee as well - so $73,500 for private party sale - I wanted to jump in on this one, but turned out it was not a 50 State legal car - when ordered dealers had to check a box for it to have Calif. emission plate - no differnce in the cars, just the plate. Without that, no registration in CA. When I bought my prior car in 2016, I found that out after almost buying a car in New Jersey - when they sent me photo of original MSO - it did not show the "50 state" emmission box on the bottom left of MSO. See attached for example of 50 State car. Once registered it is either a 49 or 50 State car for the record.
