Bc coilovers

Can anyone tell me the difference in the 10-13 and 14/15 coil over kits they have 2 different part #. I have contacted them directly and explained that I have a 14 with a zL1 rear end out of a 13 and wanted to know the difference of course the response I got back was we don’t make coilovers for the ZL1 even though I explained I was not using the mag ride and re asked the question and now I get no response. I sure hope there product is better than there customer service. Any help would be appreciated I think the front struts are different but just trying to verify thanks Tommy

The rear lower control arms are different, as well as the upper shock mount for the rear. The rear sway bar is shaped and mounts differently.

The big difference is that the newer cars have a slightly different trunk bottom. There are 2 little "bumps", on each side right above where the shock mount is. On the older cars, you could drill a hole in the trunk and put your adjusters inside the car because of the flat trunk. (The adjuster comes out of the top similar to the front damping adjuster)

On newer models, the rear damping adjustment has to come out the side, which means drilling through the rear shock mount. It's harder to make adjustments because I have to crawl under the car.

Ok sound reasonable so do I get the correct kit for the 14 and drill sideways of get a kit for older one and drill the hole and massage the bumps out of the way lol

When you say you have a zl1 rear end what do you mean? The rear subframe is from a 2014 zl1? And you have a 2013?

I have a 2013 SS with a 2013 ZL1 rear subframe. I have the standard BC coil overs. Get the extenders due the bump added to trunk floor.

So your car is a 2014, but you have a 2013 ZL1 rear end... What do you mean by ZL1 rear end exactly? Like the whole subframe is out of a ZL1?

Just trying to understand exactly what you have.

Prior to 2014, the trunk should look like the picture. The little rectangular shape the arrow is pointing to is more or less flat.

If the trunk looks like that, then you can get the coilovers made for 2010-13 and drill a hole through that little area for the adjuster.

In the later cars, that little area is a 2 inch high little box and you have to put the adjuster out the side of the rear shock mount. I don't remember exactly why that changed, but I didn't think it had to do with the suspension at all.

If your car is a 2014, then get the 2014 coilovers. The installation will be slightly different between years.

Actually, the bump got bigger in 2013. The extension is needed to adjust the damping.

my 2012 has FE4 and the new style trunk floor bottom my 2011 did not. the early 11's didn't have the factory strut brace holes late 11's did.it should be 10-11 then 12-15 the other.the floor in the pic looks like my 11? the fe4-12 and up should have large "bumps"
maybe i have a late built 12,i'll throw up some pics of mine Saturday night
off topic
as far as build go's i am wrong my car fax has this as the day my car went into inventory 09/19/2011 and strangely it didn't sell to it's first owner till 05/19/2014 traded in on 04/04/2015 with 11288 miles on it.
unfortunately someone fell for the key fob recall.

Get the extenders and some sort of plastic grommet to put in the cut hole. You can cut down the extenders to the length you want but I liked them long as I never put anything in my truck.

I didn't even know those extenders were a thing. My 2010 had a smooth trunk floor and my 2014 has those bumps.

Vegas Bound is steering you in the right direction, get those extenders, because it's way better than crawling underneath to make adjustments.

I'm still not sure if the 2014-15 set is different because of the suspension or because of the trunk though... I would still get the get for the correct year.
