Driving around or thru waterpit (tire size)
Hey all. Right now I have 235/55/18 radial tires on the front on 18" drag rims. I want to buy 225/65/17 radial tires on the front on 17" drag rims. I have drag radials on the back. I currently drive around the waterpit and back in. With this new front tire size being narrower, do you think I could drive thru the waterpit now then do a burnout, or, do you think I should still drive around and back in??? Not really sure the rules/best practices with front tire size and waterpit etc...

I drive through it. No way around it at my track. I wouldn't overthink it

It's not really the tire but but the tread pattern. I run M&H Racemaster and roll right through the water box.

Contrary to the photo on the left I quit doing the burnout for both cars and as a result the quarter times did not change. Still low 13s high 12s for both cars at around 100 mph without tire spin off the line. Maybe if I went back to burnout I could pick up a 10th or so?
