Back to the track 2022!
So patience pays in the end, $600 worth of Nitto DR's for $180(barely used lol) and new Motegi MR120 18x9.5($110ea Amazon) so for $400 I will now get to see what she can really do. This and the great advice and info from fellow C5'rs and peeps at the 'fest(plus hopefully my improved driver mod!) will make this next trip a real eye opener hopefully.
My local tire guy(fellow drag racer too!) mounted the DR's using bead sealer(can't use screws) to address any possible rim slip and road force balanced the pair for $70 total! For the visually gratified pic's follow..and GMS, I am using the same H&R hub adapters I had on the front on the rear also..puts the tire about 1in outside the fender('bout perfect IMHO)... Will be postin results from Fridays T&T either Fri eve or Sat am..

This driver mod you speak of, is it expensive?

Hey Bill, how about a sneak peak of your new combo(don't deny it...lol) and will it be ready by fall for a mid-atlantic get together before winter sets in...?

TKS! They are actually 'vette rims made back in 2012(!!!) guess that's why they went for such a low price..at 21lb fairly light IMHO(but very stout design!) and if the combo works I guess I will have to start lookin for front skinnies! I use H&R 30mm(!) hub extenders(not spacers) on all 4 corners so I can get away with the 56mm offset on these rims(will not fit without) and zero clearance probs on calipers or control arms...just tie the e-brake cable back and good to go..have about 1in clearance on the inside of the tire so no worries there....and with the 9.5 rim and this tire size when I drop the psi(will get close up pics at the track) to 20 or less should get a nice fat contact patch with good sidewall flex...at least that"s the plan!
Now if the GD rain would just GO AWAY PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Subscribed for results - you'll be a good baseline for me on DRs considering our similar current performance. Good luck!

Lotta people been complaining about the prep lanes not prepped very well, I'm hoping they step it up for next weekend. If not I'll probably not go back. Maybe a trip to Darlington would be worth it then, I think the DA is usually better there as well.

Good luck Frank! If my Bogarts do not fit the vette they will be on the market SOON! Got to get a free weekend to run up to Dougs to sort some things out and then make some baseline passes.
