Financially best?
Looking through the threads I keep reading "sell the v6 and get a V8. You'll get more for your money."
That doesn't seem to be true. Unless my math is wrong. Considering my 2LT is worth $6,000 Blue Book. Wouldn't dumping 10K into to mean I only spent 10K and for 100 more HP (just an example). As opposed to selling the 2LT and spending 24K+ on a SS ($20,000 expense instead of $10,000) ?

Comparing a stock 6 to a stock 8, I guess that depends on how much it'll cost you to get to what the 8 comes with. FBO and cams gets you close to the same power but you'll still have a bunch less torque (not sure how much E85 helps; don't have E85 around here); the SS also has wider wheels/tires and Brembos by default.
Is a 6 really only worth $6k? Up in Canerda I'm seeing used ones for $14k to $24k, and SS's going for $26k - $34k, so $20k'ish vs. $30k'ish, or $10k/50% difference. But the whole "why mod a 6 when you can just buy an 8" argument is stupid, 'cause let's be honest, if anyone is/was willing to mod their 6, they'd be spending the same amount/doing the same mods to their 8 anyway, had they bought one Guess it all depends on how fast you want to go; mine can do 0 - 60 in under 6 seconds no problem and that's good enough for me, plus I get a lot better mileage than an 8.

Fair questions. Which complicates the matter. In my case, it's my daily driver, be it a 2LT or a ZL1. So for my purposes we are talking about taking roundabouts too fast and speeding on county roads and interstates. So any mods or spending another 25K on a 2SS 1LE is purely for shits and giggles. Honestly I'd probably be dangerous in a 2SS 1LE.
PLUS..... in my case. My goal is to retire at 52. Blowing money on a liability (with high ins rates) just for fun goes against every grain in my body. The biggest thing I feel like I'm missing out on with my 2LT is the sound. I do enjoy the V8 sound. I guess I don't know if it is really only worth 6K. I thought that's what I saw when I was searching last spring. Who knows. Maybe I was wrong. I can say it seemed to be worth much more in MN as it is down here in FL. When I lived in Minnesota, I really didn’t care as much. But now that I can drive the car here around. It’d be fun to sup it up some more.

Spend the money and get the V8...you will not be disappointed.
Larger Brembo brakes wider rear tires and rims lots more power and torque ect ect Just work until 55 its a nice number and 5 to 10 years earlier than most people retire(like me last year at 65) Sorry I just seen you already own a V6 I thought you were buying one Disregard my comments

Modding a six costs as much as the eight, but hits a HP ceiling way quicker. If you stopped modding at adding 100hp, you might be better off with the six, but most people get the mod bug and continually want more which is where you will be better off starting with the eight. If we actually planned where our goals would really lead, all of us would save money on mods and reduce rework. When I started 580hp seemed like way more than I would ever want, but that did not last long.
