2010 V6 - Stalling 3-weeks after major fuel system service
Hope everyone is doing well,
Looking to see if anyone has some ideas as to what kind of gremlin is haunting my car. A couple months ago, I was dealing with intermittent fuel pressure issues. I had it checked by a local mechanic shop and they diagnosed the High pressure fuel pump as the issue. They replaced it for $1,500 and the car ran great for an entire month. Suddenly broke down when accelerating from a stop sign. Reduced engine power etc. I took the vehicle back to the mechanic, they replaced the High pressure pump again but said the vehicle was still having issues and that they can no longer service it, recommended taking it to the dealership. I towed the camaro to the Chevy dealership down the road. The had the vehicle for 5 weeks. They replaced the Fuel Rail Pressure sensor, said the car ran for 10 minutes and began stalling again. The tech reported that there was high resistance in the wiring harness when the car was warm, so they replaced the injector harness as well. Road tested the vehicle and stated the car runs out of fuel on acceleration. Even though they say all pressures are within spec, it's running out of volume from the In-tank fuel pump. So they have now replaced the in-tank fuel pump. (new pump only averages about 20kPa higher pressure). Road tested the car again, began hearing noise and stalling after 10 minutes. Fuel rail pressure dropping. They said they found leaking fuel injector o-rings and needed to replace them. But still no change. After that, they decided to replace the high pressure fuel pump (yes, the third time) they believed the regulator in the pump had failed. I've had the car back for 3-weeks and it seemed to be running great again. Until this morning, I went to leave for work; started the car and let it warm up. Put my bags in the trunk and got in the seat, the car started shaking and stalling all over again. Throwing the P0192 code, which it previously had. Didn't want to run after several attempts. About an hour later, I tried again and it started fine. I drove it around the block to see if it would hold long enough for me to get it back to the dealer. It stalled when turning one of the corners, no shaking but a slow stall like it just turned off. It started fine in neutral and was able to get it to the dealership a couple miles away. Hoping they find an issue quickly as the bill from the dealer was $3,100 the original mechanic was $1,500 and the rental ran me about $1,200. Anyone have any leads on what could repeatedly cause this issue? Again, the replaced parts were: High pressure fuel pump (three times) Low pressure fuel pump in tank Fuel rail pressure sensor (twice) Fuel line pressure sensor from tank Right bank Fuel injector harness Injector Seal kit Intake Manifold Gasket |

Never had this issue but I always start with connectivity harness checks.
Unplug and re plug all ECU and harness connectors a few times, to re establish continuity, them run Mystery oil through the fuel system. Take it from there.

Dang man I'm sorry you are having this issue.I hope you can get it sorted out. The shop rate at the dealership is ridiculous. I hope you won't have to spend any more money into finding out what is going on. These V6 camaros run great when done right and kept up with. How many miles do you have on it?

I'm thinking that you may have a poor connection at the fuel rail pressure sensor, P0192 sets when the ECM sees less than .3 volts on the signal wire which is black. KOEO u should have 5V on the white wire, the light blue wire is ground, Black is the signal wire. They should check the connection, wiggle it around when its running to see if it runs good/poor. Look at the wiring real good and if they don't see anything get a new FRP sensor pigtail and wire it in. GL

I appreciate the responses folks. So I decided to order myself some NGK Laser Iridium spark plugs, and the issue hasn’t returned for a few thousand miles so far. The old ones were fairly dirt, I’m assuming they worsened following the fuel pump issue. I’ll post a picture of them below.

Looking forward to the pics as my 2LT has not had the spark plugs changed out at all to the best of my knowledge and it currently has 104k miles. I suppose its time to do so soon?
