no love for 5th gen Z/28 on track?
hello folks... I've bought a z/28 camaro 2 years ago and I've used to to re-start going to the racetrack after over 15 years of absence.
Z/28 are quite uncommon and people that used them for what they are meant to be are even rarer. I love my Z28 but life is short and I want to have the most fun possible. I'm painfully slow but I'm getting there... 1st time on "the Ridge" with a 100% stock car and street tires (continental sport contact 2) - 1:58 best this year I did alignment (-2/-1 camber) put some decent tires (supercar 3r), 2" headers and a BFD cam (just because I had it when I bought the car). Improved my best by ~5 seconds. This car is unreal, it has so much potential. I can see a path to lower my times by ~10 seconds with current setup. Sharing video for the sound You can find my videos on a very little youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/@dariodeagostini/videos

Mine is pretty much entirely a track car as its too damn big and fast for the roads here in UK
The previous owner used it for sprint series and Ive done a few track days in it - at Spa it was literally the fastest thing on track, even at Zandvoort with a cracked piston it was still up there with the quickest. Fair play to the collectors but I cant understand having a car with ceramic brakes and the trickest suspension in the world but only driving it at a fraction of what its capable of, if youve not tracked your Z28 get out there ASAP |
