my dyno today(base for e85 tune)

The temp was 95*, car has a little over 5k miles, the only mod are exhaust and long tube with no cats, and the newest trifecta tune. The dyno was a dynojet 248x inertia 2000hp chassis dyno located in beltsville md@SRT home of the fastest lexus is300.

I do not have a baseline for my car, but others on the same dyno produced around 232rwhp stock in 90+ heat, and around 240rwhp in a cooler 50's.

I dynoed 264rwhp and 240rwtq.

The reason for today's dyno was to get a baseline established for trifecta's e85 tune I am currently testing. So far so good! With the proper timing, AFR, and control of valve timing VVT, we can manipulate the effective compression to take advantage of e85's 105 octane and its cooling nature to pump out more power than what a usual N/A car can do.

Those numbers do seem a little low for your mods...That means you've only gained about 12-15 HP.

Did you do a stock dyno? If not, there is no way to know how well your mods have performed.

Lets just hope that vince can tweak our fuel to pump out sufficient e85. I cant wait either

Anyone with more dyno experience want to chime in? the owner of my dyno shop said that his dynojet is a bigger model that reads lower than the usual dynojet. whats your thought?

Oh.. and forgot to mention. today at 4pm when I got my car dynoed was 90 degrees on my radio before I went in. very very hot day.

you know what, after doing some searching/researchin on this forum it look like most peoples with manual are putting down 260-270hp with added intake headers, exhaust, tune. Remember, I have no intake yet, I am still waiting for vararam.

Stock is usually seeing 245-250 manual. so if I did 270hp with stock intake than I actually think thats a ok number. Plus the owner told me that their dynojet is a bigger model and it read lower than the usual dynojet. So if thats true than that mean even my 270hp number is really conservative right?
and I think if I would of kept pulling I could of even got higher number. The dyno run went from 265-268-270, so I think I could of got higher figure because the power was just getting bigger with each pull.

Those numbers are very good, I certainlywouldn’t be unhappy with them. Most guys were getting less than 260WHP withyour level of mods on the old tune.

Well at least I have a base figure for e85 tune. Thats all it matter no more need for guessing.

My shop that I go to says the same thing, lower reading dynojet. But probably more realistic instead of pumped up numbers.

The H.P. seems right on with others that have LT's and exhaust with no intake.Doesnt seem bad at all.

I actually think the numbers are good. Considering a stock v6 usually dyno 240-250hp the highest on a dynojet than that mean I could of gained anywhere from 20-30hp. The only thing that I could of got the extra power is from the long tube with no cats and the new tune. So if I look at it that way than I think 270hp on a 90 degree weather is actually good still with factory intake.

At this point the number really dont mean crap since I dont have my car's stock dyno to compare with. What matters now is that I can now almost correctly see the gain with e85 tune when I go backassuming that the e85 tune will work on our car.

I was almost with you until I realized what stock v6's dyno on other similar dynojet. I think its more 20-30hp I gained considering stock see 240-250whp.
but again, I cant really take the numbers from today too seriously without having base numbers to compare to.

My best was 270hp with all my mods, minus the nitrous. So you are good.

That's with ss wheels as well, which effect the readings with heavier wheels.

If it's at all possible, best scenario would be to run a baseline dyno when your low fuel light comes on, then run to the gas station and fill up e85, and run it again. Not sure if that's possible.
