Please watch this and explain to me what's going on. Thanks :)

Hey guys so I made a video to discover what that faint chirping noise is and I would to see what you guys think.

1.You'll notice that my crank pulley wobbles quite a bit. I actually made an appointment with a dealer to get it checked out next week.

2. What the hell is that whining noise coming from the pulley right above the alternator?

3. At various points throughout the video you'll hear that chirping I'm talking about, almost sounds like a bad bearing.

As always any and all help is greatly appreciated and I love this friggin site.

I'll take a stab at it...

Gm balancers wobble or appear to wobble, some more than others. If possible, get an inspection mirror and decent light, check the inside of the pulley for cracks...(just in case as they are known to crack, although rarely)

The quality of the audio isn't the greatest, so the associated sounds of the engine running...sound normal. I didn't notice any unusual chirping. (from your video).

Also, get a paper towel tube, piece of hose or buy a cheap stethoscope and isolate the sound to a specific area.

Other chirping possibilities...
-tensioner going out
-rod or main bearings

Check your oil for metal shavings and if you have gold flakes or glitter, a bearing has worn past the steel lining to the brass...due to oil pressure issues, low oil or even overserviced oil due the the crank whipping air into the oil.

All very unlikely but possible. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot bro. Like I said any and all help is much appreciated. I'm just pissed that I have to wait another week before the dealer can take me as it's not the original dealer I bought it from so they said they couldn't give me priority.

I just hope it doesn't take 2 months due to them not giving me "priority" to get it fixed, but this dealer is honestly the best in the area so I have no choice :/

That doesnt sound right how the dealership is handling it.. I'd use a different one if possible. I've never heard of buyer priority at any dealership I've used for my previous cars.

Yea I know it's kinda messed up, BUT this is NY. I know how that sounds, but the reality of it is that in nyc all these dealers are extremely difficult to deal with.

It's sad, but I have no choice. :(

That sounds awesome bro. Sorry I couldn't get back to your text, this week has been ****ing nuts, finals just ended and I've been trying to get a dealer to make an appointment.

I'm going to H.B. Chevy. My boy knows the service advisor and says they don't screw around. What do you think?

Btw, Jeff, other than those two reviews, East Hills chevy is apparently pretty legit.
