Onstar update - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I pushed my Onstar button the other day to get directions and instead of a person, I got a voice activated prompt. I got my directions fine without actually talking to anyone, but it kind of annoyed me. It took longer to go through all the voice prompts, than it usually does just tell someone where I'm going. On my way back, I just asked for an advisor and talked to a real person again. I'm not real happy with the change, but at least I can still get an actual person if I want to.

You sure you didnt hit the button all the way to the left?
IN mine I have 3 buttons
VOICE ONSTAR EMERGENCY
I cant tell you how many times I hit emergency and I THOUGHT I hit OnStar but then I hear a different tone and "ONSTAR EMERGENCY" Crap my pants everytime haha.

well all i know is i said see ya to onstar cause they were taking 5 minutes for an agent to pick up... All that to get turn by turn navigation where they never gave me the shorter route.. Got a real navigation now and what a relief!

Yeah, I'm hating the new Onstar. You talk with a computer before getting a human on the line. The computer asks if you know your destination's address which is a waste for me because I just know the name of the place I want to go to.

This is something they are trying out. I just did a customer survey, and I let them know that I pay to speak to an advisor. If I have to give them the address, then I might as well get a Garmin.

Today I used the automated service, and it worked. But I was in the car with the motor off. When it is on and I am driving it can't understand me most of the times.

Sounds to me like the are trying to cut down on the number of advisers they need to have on staff.
