Gm should create a new code for this scenario

Can any other 10/17 TPW's chime in?
4300 is not a step closer. Means it got shipped to a location to have something installed that is off-site. Then it will go back to 4200 when it is headed to the dealership.

Well, that directly contradicts what the General Manager of the dealership told me today. Not saying you are wrong but someone is because he told me that 4300 meant the car was complete and delivered the VDC (Vehicle Distribution Center) where it will either be placed on railcar (outside 750 miles, which would be me) or car carrier if local (inside 750 miles).

I think TrickracenLS3 is right on this one. My dealer began speaking that code lingo, and I temporarily blacked out. I forgot whether he said mine was currently at 4300 or 4B00, but I do distinctly remember him saying he expects it to go back to 4200 prior to delivery. I was like 'uh, huh. yeah, sure.' Then he told me it's slated to arrive on the 31st, which was good enough for me, so I shut up and told him to call me he sees it being unload from the trailer...which is all we really care about, right?

I believe your GM is mistaken...... dealership personnel may be top notch at managing or sales, but car manufacturing most are clueless....

Just because a code says "available to ship" doesn't mean it has......

Most salespeople do not fully understand how to interpret the codes...... Even general managers....

4300 means moved to another holding lot at the production facility "interim movement", 4B00 means parked or "bayed"...

4800 is the code for your local distribution center...

All this can be verified thru Becky....

You are looking for a 4200 after you have been at 4B00 or 4300 to be shipped.... also someone at LGR has incorrectly coded the cars 4200 after production instead of 4300, it happens often... depends on who is entering the status....

If they can't provide rail information to you it hasn't shipped....

Check with Becky on the tracking thread.... you are most likely 4300 or 4B00....

I honestly believe none of these cars have shipped yet....

But hopefully soon.....

It would be my pleasure....
....... to check the status on this thread:

All 6th Gen Camaro Order Status Requests
....................................
When an Order is produced ---3800 and above...
it moves to a "Tab" - titled .."InTransit"...
Technically...4300- 4B00 & 4200 - are included in the Tab.
without - looking at the order for actual status...
the status is not known....

My 16' SS was among those that were build during the first week or two or production in October of last year. We all went through shipping/bayed/QC hell. Our cars sat and moved around lots for weeks.

In the end...trust me that 4200 is the code you want to see, but you'll not breath a sigh of relief until you see 4800, or possibly even 6000 which is delivery of your vehicle.

I don't know if the system is behind now, but back then, it was common that the system was running behind a few days or more. My car went 4200 and then the next day or so it showed up at my dealership. In the end, except for those folks that managed to get OnStar turned on before they took delivery and could actually track their car, nobody really knew exactly where their car was, and no dealership, or representative/customer service person could either.

Well, my car moved from 4300 to 4B00 which means "bayed". The best I can figure is that bayed means waiting for transport OR awaiting QC review. Goodness, this is painful.

Have your dealer set up your onstar and then download the mychverolet app and you can monitor where it is through GPS
