The E-diff only comes on the 1LE and ZL1's, so a 2SS (non 1LE) will have the regular limited slip diff.

I like changing these too at 1,500 just to be safe (I am an overkill kind of guy haha)

I usually Sharpie pen the records somewhere on the car so when the next guy finds them, they know what they have to work with.

No, the manual doesn’t call for it. However, after reading around here it is highly recommended. I changed mine at just over 1500mi and there was a lot of metal in the oil and quite a bit of sludge built up on the drain plug.

Doesn't hurt anything, but probably overkill. I don't track my car and I only put about 1200 miles per year, so I will just stick to the recommendations per the owners manual. Change the oil once per year and that's about it.

Exactly the same for me. I change around 9-11 months, when it’s convenient, and change it myself. I use an oil drain valve so it drains right into a 5qt discard oil jug.
