Is the front fascia and hood the same on 14-15 SS and V6?

Assuming you have a 2014-2015 SS and a V6 parked right next to each other. AS you are looking at the front end, are the hood "Cowls" the same width? Or does the SS have a wider raised portion because of the hood vent?

Basically, if I buy a V6 hood to delete the SS hood vent, will the hood lines, cowling etc match an SS car?

I think so - but don't quote me on that. Here's a pic of my '14 non-SS to help you compare. If you get a '14 Blue Ray SS I'll trade hoods with you

Here's an SS - looks like the cowl might actually be wider than the non-SS cowl? I just measured mine and it's about 22" wide in the front and about 26" in back by the windshield.

Something else to compare ... The cowl hood lines going forward to the front edge of the SS 2014/15 continue onto the plastic bumper cover. Those body lines in the bumper cover are subtle and taper down and disappear in the bumper cover as they move forward toward the front grill. It shows in the big photo posted above by GatorGreg, highlighted due to lighting just above the "SS" badge in the grill of picture he posted. Other line does not show up as well in that photo because light has more reflection on car from drivers side.

I just measured my 2015 1LT's hood and at the points where the cowl breaks to the lower plane is 21.5 at the nose and 25.5 at the windshield.

Don't know if that helps.

That SS hood cowl does look wider on Gatorgreg's pic.

Where are you guys measuring? I measured the width of the middle of my 14 SS hood the "Raised cowl" and I got 30" at the front bumper

I got about 22" at the front by the hood and about 26" at the back by the windshield, so it seems the cowl on the '14 V6 is roughly 8" narrower than on the '14 SS, at least at the front. That seems to jive with the pics.

No, the V6 hood is narrower that the SS on the 14-15 cars. Lines will not match up.

Hope this helps. Without the engineer drawings to confirm that's about as close as I can measure without removing the hood from the car to be more precise.

^ Thanks! Don't ride it much these days, especially after I bought the Camaro.
