Thanks, It is great that others reach out to help and share their knowledge! It has gotten me out of some really bad jams, ideas of mine that did not pan out...

Car is starting and running much better, hope to drive it this weekend to get it ready for the dyno. Everyone I know wants to know what kind of HP it will make.

Misfires

I set up a spark misfire in the HP scanner and found that cylinders 3, 4 and 6 are having to many misfires. So have to do some troubleshooting now, awaiting new plugs and coil tester from amazon. Then back to tuning.

Wow!

Are you an engineer? Great attention to detail and amazing build!

I could never, without ample help and knowledge.

This car is going to be a track beast..

Curious why you didn't go with a Z/28?

Hello,
When I bought my first ZL1 the Z28 was not out yet. I originally wanted to break 200mph in the standing mile, so my build was centered around that. The 3 days after my first ZL1 was finished it was totalled. So I bought it back and used what I could on my new build and sold off the rest. I have some friends that own Mustangs and we want to go and get our SCCA permits and run some track days. I still want to run the standing mile, just to see what the car will do! I am not an engineer, just a car nut since I was a kid!

Gutted car - again...

So pulled the interior out again to move all the stereo wires and cables to the passenger side of the interior. Was getting a hum in the system from the positive battery cable. Also finished installing the sound deadening mat.

Talking AEM air/fuel gauge

Here is what I did for the AEM air/fuel gauge. I first used a regular one hole pod, it was for the fuel pressure gauge. I could not find a decent two hole pod, so I made one out of some pvc pipe.

Talking Thought I would share, Intercooler Reservoir, Oil & Fuel Accumulator

I designed and install of Intercooler Reservoir and accumulators, I brought the shaped and trimmed pieces to Metal Masters and they did the welding for me. The supercharger intercooler up front is 4" compared to 5/8" for the stock one. The new intercooler also has a vent line from the intercooler to the reservoir tank to vent the air out of the intercooler. It also provides a way to check for coolant flow.
The oil accumulator has a shut off valve wired into the ignition system so it pre-lubes the engine before starting. I was just going to build an accumulator to prelube the engine before first startup, but figured why not make it permanent. So now I am able to pre-lube the engine after an oil change by putting oil into the accumulator and pressurizing it with shop air.
The fuel accumulator was added because the Livernois dual fuel pumps would severely spike when spooled up to full pressure output. It is basically an aluminum bottle turned upside down to add an air cushion to the fuel rails.

(I really like the Red Horse Fittings out of all the fittings I have installed)

Awesome work,, and awesome build!!

Fwiw, these ZL1 6spd drivelines only lose about 12-13%. So 850rwhp is maybe 970 at the flywheel. To get to 1100 flywheel, you'd need to put down about 960rwhp, and a 1900 isn't gonna get there.

With your current mods on 93 octane, I'd guess 760 or so at the wheels, or about 870 motor.

Hope you shatter my guess on the dyno, though! Keep up the good work!!

My 1st ZL1 made over 680hp at the rear wheels at 7100 rpm on the dyno (dyno reading), here is one of the Dyno sheets (it shows 645 1st full pull at 6350 rpm, I cannot find the other ones they sent me).

The shop told me that their dyno was set up for their dragster at an extra 5% load so it should be 15% lower compared to Dyno Jet (so 680/.85=800 at the wheels). And that the drive train loss was 15% (so that 800/.85=941 at the crank). They told me the crank HP was 941 and the rear wheels HP was 800 after doing the math. So did they tell me the truth, who knows. It drove awesome!

I will just be glad to get the dyno tune done on this engine. I am running 92 Octane fuel with 64oz of Boostane per tank of fuel so it should be 104 Octane. If I hit my goal it is all good, if not it is still all good, it runs and drives AWESOME!!!

It drives like a fine lady till you mash the gas then the monster is released!!

Thank you for you input! It is always appreciated!!
