Cleaning matte stripes

I have been meaning to post this but keep forgetting. I have been trying to figure out how to clean my matte stripes without giving them a glossy appearance. I think I they came out pretty good considering how they looked to begin with. The pics are turned sideways for some reason.

I’m impressed! Anything that remotely makes them look “cleaned” seems to give them a glossy appearance. What process/product did you use?

Thanks

I used Adams brilliant wax on their blue hex hand applicator. Applied it then cleaned the excess off with with a microfiber towel. Applied it again and cleaned off. Then followed it up by applying their VRT with a clean microfiber towel. If you use this method you need to tape the sides of the stripes off first. It was a little more shiny than normal but was back to normal matte look after a few days. It was by no means glossy though.

@chuckie669 also.

Replaced my grill the other day since they are now available again. It’s crazy how one piece can make such a tremendous change. Also removed the front license plate holder since they are not required where I live.

Looks great. I too capped the plate holes when I had the original fascia on. Doesn't look bad at all.

Now, there's absolutely no way I'm drilling into my ZL1... Front plates are required here in CA, but LEO's don't stop me for that. I'm sure they probably understand lol...

Did you have it painted? Hard to tell from your pic, but it looks fairly close to the Cyber Gray.

I did not. It was so close and matched pretty good to the factory cyber metallic gray that I left it just like it was.

I looked at the bumper plugs but did not like how far the protrude so I went the other route of making my own.

They probably hate the front tag just as much as we do.

Added black vinyl accents at the gills and on the front. A cheap but tasteful cosmetic addition to my SS. Had to break up all that white on the side.
