I recently saw a Mustang with the glass sunroof. Personally, I don't like it.

I wasn't able to get inside the Mustang, but it didn't appear to have a shade for the roof. I'd imagine the A/C would be working pretty hard to keep the interior cool during the summer. Even with tinted glass, I'd be concerned that heat and sunlight would affect the interior too much.

It just seems a little "gimmicky" to me.

Then there's the issue of weight. For that reason alone, I highly doubt it'll be offered on the Camaro. Plus, everyone wants the Camaro priced reasonably -options such as a glass roof are too costly versus a sunroof. And if having that "open air" feeling is a requirement, you have the 'vert.

I think it's funny that Ford is nixing the My Color gauges because of cost, but they think a glass roof option is economically viable.

+2. I know I wouldn't be interested in a glass roof if it was made out of the same "plastic" as the 'Vette's removable roof. I'd just be affraid of scratches and eventual fading and what-not.

My sentiments as well. That option would cost $2000. Aside from a feeling of spaciousness, there really doesn't seem to be any concrete benefits - aside from looking cool to some people who can see the car from outside!!.
I've posted my thoughts before on another board:

It's possible to shape the glass to include the reverse mohawk, but do you think you'd even be able to see it? I mean glass, by nature, is transparent. Even with the tinting, I don't think the lines would be visible without looking really close. It would just look like a disturbance in the reflections on the glass.

If it's possible to shape the glass, then I think with window tinting, it would be easy enough to tell the difference with the mohawk roof. I'd have to see it first, but think that could look very cool.

See now this is odd because on Barrett they said that the glass roof was a 1 of 1 option package that came on the FIRST 08 GT500 KR and no other would be made.

Unless This is a regular mustang with that, which would be really dumb of them to do if they announced that they would only make one.

Will, the GT500 KR on B.J. was to be the only one with a glass roof option.

AS for the Mustang I saw with the glass roof, it was a GT.
