Just got my snow tires for the SS
Just mounted my Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow. I got 255/45-20 front and 295/40-20 in the rear. It looks great and it seems to have better dry handling than I expected, will have to wait to comment on the snow/ice traction, but it for sure lowered the road noise.

Did you put these on the original wheels?

Yes, I did and it looks good. I wouldn't go any wider in the rear on those rims but this works fine.

too wide in the rear, narrow is better when it comes with snow tires.
I would have gone with 255/45-20 all around but that is just me.

I was expecting that comment! I mean, you're right. Actually 255 is probably too wide as well. if you want a pure snow racer 185 is the best. But how would that look on our cars?

believe me, nobody will be looking at the rear of our cars on winter, everybody will be focused on not driving into the ditch, I just think 295 is a waste of money and performance on the snow. $0.02

I agree, I just mounted the same tires, but in original stock sizes--245 and 275. They are good in the snow, but I feel their dry traction leaves something to be desired. I can feel the car sliding a little in hard corners, and the other day when the road was just a little wet, I got a little sideways accelerating quickly to make a left-hand turn--with TC on no less.
