Painted my Wheels - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Took this weekend to paint the weels. Used a sanding sponge and some degreaser to clean/scuff the wheels up then put on multiple light coats of semi-gloss black, and finished it off with high gloss clear. Unfortunately i had some business to attend to (motor swaps between a buddies two fox bodies) so I had to take a little drive, which resulted in a little bit of rippling. Ill come back later and do some wet sanding and spot repair. All in all i think it was a productive waste of $40

first shot is still on the jack, gives you a nice view of the ding someone left me a little while back; second shot is all mounted up; third shot is a fancy one i took that evening.

i know its been done a thousand times, but i love the look

now all that is left is the lug nuts, and maybe hitting the calipers with a deeper black, but ill call it good for now

how hard is it to paint your rims black 1 to 10 .
10 being the hardest

Looks really good. I think the silver lug nuts look good. Nice little high light on an all black car.

Looks good ! Gives me a better idea as my car is black as well . I'm also gearing up to powder coat my wheels.

on a scale of 1 to 10? i think it would be a 5, just because you have to take your time and you can't rush with a coat of paint. you litterally just take the wheel off, scuff and clean it up then drink beer and paint on it. make sure you get some self etching primer and it will make your life a ton easier.

the lug nuts are kind of growing on me as well, so i dont feel so bad that im procrastinating on finding some black lug nuts
