No longer remote starts
Hoping someone can help here. I have a 2010 Camaro SS 2ss L99. The car will no longer remote start. I press the lock button twice and it blows the horn. When I press and hold the remote start the marker lights blink as expected but it doesn't start. The only thing that as changed is the check engine light is on now. I expected that as I put long tube headers and high flow cats on it about a month ago. The light just came on the last few days as did the remote start issue. Any ideas?

The remote start won’t work if the MIL is on. That’s your problem I’m sure.

As others said, any CEL will negate the remote start. It's a safety thing so that if there is something wrong with the engine, remote starting the car won't potentially catastrophically ruin your engine if the reason for the CEL is bad enough. Obviously, a set of long tube headers won't detonate your engine with a start up, but it's an all or nothing safety feature.
