CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

It's not difficult if you use a chainsaw.

If you're talking about how to get the airbag off, there's two clips you have to push in located on the sides. On either side of the steering wheel at the base of the center cap you should see two small holes. You can use a small screwdriver to push in the retainers. the center cap should pop off then. Be careful of the air bag clips and make sure to de-energize the air bag system for at least 15 minutes by pulling the battery cable.

As for the chrome ring itself, if that's what you're talking about, I think it's part of the cover. Probably not easily removed if it can be at all. My guess is it's glued/fused on. Good luck.

the ring is part of the airbag cover. not shown as being removable. mine was scratched up by the previous owner, so I researched replacement.

You're trying to do something but I'm not sure what.

Do you want to end up with no chrome ring on your steering wheel, or do you want to take the chrome ring off one airbag and install it on another?
