Will I be ok?

Hey ladies and gents,

I am finally putting some mods on my car. Pretty excited and I thought I would get some opinions.

I have a RotoFab CAI. I am having BIG injectors, a lingenfelter pulley kit, and a e85 sensor installed with a tune. Im assuming this will put me right around 600-615rwhp. This is where I want to be for the time being, or until I can convince my wife that headers are good for the environment. My question however, is do you all think that with 600ish rwhp that i will be ok with the stock pump. I have read things that say it will be perfectly ok with that setup, and others that say don't. My mechanic has worked on thousands of hot rod cars, GT500s, ZL1s, Vettes, ect. He is known for KNOWING his stuff and has a 5 star rating in our area. He works on almost all the well known drag racers cars in my area. I have talked with the guy probably a dozen times and he has my trust, but I thought I would open this up for some discussion. He told me that if i wanna push to 700rwhp or do headers, a cam, and cat deletes i would probably want to look at a new fuel system. He said he had done several flex sensor kits without new fuels systems and its perfectly fine. He did it on his own personal Corvette. What do you guys think? Take it easy on me, Im learning everyday!

I am running my stock pump with-out a BAP and have had no issues for allmost three years....Just need to make sure your A/F ratio is in line when you tune. When i'm bottle feeding her I do have a seperate pump/fuel cell spraying 116 octane with the nitrous.

I forgot to mention im also having the blower ported, but didn't think that would make much of a difference. My injectors will be 1250s and I'm doing a 2.38 pulley.

Good to know that you've had good luck for the last 3 years with it. Do you switch back in forth from e85 to 91?

I am tuned for 93 octane only....When I do race my car I run VP 109 just for the added security of no detonation......

Wow, no BAP for this setup? I am really starting to feel like maybe you don't need one for 650ish/rwhp.

I have 2.40 pulley, cai, ported super charger, headers, I run a mixture of e85 and 93 gas that gives me around 40% e85. My pumps are at 100% duty at 6300 rpms. Having a boost pump installed next week. My Z is an automatic not sure if that makes a difference.

I've heard good things about injector dynamics. Not sure about Big.

You absolutely do. No one is actually scanning and recording their fuel pressure around here. You can bet it is dropping like a rock at 650 rwhp.
Injector size doesn't matter. It is all about fuel volume. How much can be delivered and still maintain 65 psi.

G Money, care to reply? I am very interested in hearing if you are watching your fuel pressure under load.

I have a way of monitoring my fuel pressure when I get my mods/tune to get to that point, but by then it would be too late if I need a BAP.

Gmoney is also running meth injection which is going to lower his required volume of actual gasoline. So he may be OK.
