Didn’t need to wet sand at all. Just did a super light coat and then 2 medium coats and then a final ticker coat. Same with the clear.

My new decals for the Z06 calipers should be arriving soon and I can then finish up that paint job. Will post once done.

Finally got them done. It’s not perfect, but it’s good for now. I’m not much of a painter.

From Corvette to Chevrolet/Brembo.

Here is all four of them together. The rears are darker, but it’s as close as I could get.

Yes, same bracket and bolts. I believe the only thing I need to modify is the dust shield. I tried ordering the ZL1 dust shield, but it’s discontinued

I only sanded the front of the Z06 calipers where it said “Corvette”. Then I spent a good amount of time masking off with tape. Using VHT paint, I sprayed Flame Proof Primer, then Red Caliper paint, then added the larger stickers I found on Etsy (came from Israel), then used clear coat.

I had a bug land in my clear coat at the end and I tried to get it out, but it damaged that section. Look closely and you can see a dab of touch up paint on one of them. Either way, came out okay.

For the new rear SS calipers, I just masked the pistons, bleeders, and parts of the caliper that shouldn’t have paint. How did I know which parts? I looked at the Z06 calipers and made sure to not paint the areas that those didn’t have. I then did the same process or primer, paint, decals from Amazon, and clear. No sanding needed on the rear calipers.

I hope that helps.

My powder coaters SUCKED. now i have to have brand new calipers rebuilt. They baked them 3x and lost some boots and seals. Great. They are buying all brand new hardware. Ill be going elsewhere for correction.

SO I have ZL1 Calipers and the clear is peeling on the 2 rears, So I may try to re clear or re paint. If I repaint I have High Temp Primer,High Temp Satin Black Paint and High temp Clear in gloss and satin. How long did you wait between base coat and putting stickers on and how long after base coat did you spray clear over stickers? Thanks
