Is "650 hp" a claim by Ford or is it SAE certified? If it's just a claim, Ford has been playing with us for the past couple of months.

i read that same article.670hp is awesome but really only 3% more than advertised so probably within the range of tolerances. But i also found it wierd that its advertised as peaking at 6250rpm yet looking at the graph the power was still going up well after that!
Personally i think the ZL1 is going to be the Nissan GTR of pony cars- high weight, fast enough, and awesome handling. The GT500's more like the 1st gen Viper. Big power, big potential but not enough tech nannies to help the driver out so it will probably be more relegated to straight line duties since most people dont like to beat up their cars for extended periods of time on a road course. Im glad the ZL1 took and committed to a completely different direction. So what if a 5.0 with bolt ons can keep up with one on the street and track (or 3 tenths and 3mph behind a boss), the car is advanced in other ways. Not the fastest but it differentiates itself enough to have a different kind of aura. Im curious as to how the current 2012 GT500 stacks up and how much better the 2013 will even be than the current GT500 |
