Aeroforce interceptor AFR

I'm posting this here because I know everyone in here has a AFR gauge and it gets more traffic than the audio section.

So long story short I fried my interceptors after hooking up the aeroforce afr kit.

I was wondering if I someone could pin point what I did wrong. All the plugs are self explanatory and can't get plugged into the wrong port for the sending unit thing. I used their add a fuse. Tapped into driver side fuse box,, the spare (empty) fuse location. F10 i believe, both mini fuses were in the top of the tap (a red #10 and a yellow #20). Had the ground on the bolt next to the fuse box. Had everything hooked up. Scan gauge never even comes on.

Checked my second one I made sure it worked and had power. As soon as I plugged in the line for the afr into the gauge itself, instant death......screen turns off, won't come back on, puff of smoke comes out of the back.

So other than wth did I do wrong....... is anyone running dashlogic and reading afr? Or those of you that have interceptors are you using a different afr gauge?

What fuse did you tap into?

Only thing I didnt think of looking for is the voltage of that F10 spot. I really dont want to buy another gauge to mess it up again.

I don't think you'll find anything hinky voltage wise in your fuse box unless your vOut on your alternator is in excess of 18v. A low voltage would just not turn on, a high voltage could arc a circuit. Unless the install instructions tell you to use a 5v source (which would be tough to find in a fuse box), everything should be geared for 12v ±4v. Perhaps, you reversed polarity?

I used F18 / F17 for my gauges, thats what worked for me. AEM truboost and Aeroforce Interceptor.

If you search the forum theres several install threads with photo's of how and where folks tapped for gauges. hope that helps

I used this thread.

https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=547943

I didnt follow it 100%. I went thru the firewall on the driver side, the little hole right above the positive cable. Then didnt follow where the fuse tap goes. Thats the F17. I used F10. Guess I should have followed it closer
