Well. I imagine the V6 Camaro will be ok. Hell the SS would be too. Especially when these cars come with traction control and stability control. If I'm not mistaken I believe that the V6 Camaro is getting the same STC, TCS, that the Pontiac G8 has in which I've heard with the systems enabled you really have to try and spin out... So either way he should be ok.

Great thread!! I had this discussion on another Camaro forum and was called a troll by a Chevy salesman...
I am considering the following cars, in no particular order: Honda Accord Coupe Nissan Altima Coupe Camaro Infiniti G37 Coupe I think Camaro competes against at least the top two, the Infiniti may be too far of a reach and not a fair comparison. I have driven the new Accord Coupe, and let me tell you...there is no hint of torque steer. That thing flies, although the handling in the corners is not the best. My fav of this group SO FAR is the G37...what a machine. Wow. I can't wait to drive the V6 and V8 versions of the Camaro...and then make an informed decision. |

Car and Driver called the V-6 Camaro more of a G37 competitor than a Mustang competitor.

That Infiniti is a world class RWD car. I do think the Camaro will outshine the Mustang rather easily. |

Because an Infinity G37 coupe starts at 35,900 and a Camaro V6 starts at 22,995. The Camaro shouldn't even be able to hold a candle to the G37, but it does, and the G37 should easily outshine the SS, but it doesn't. - Xanthos

Look, I like the look of the new Camaro, but the G37 is already a proven world class car...and I don't think you can compare a Chevy Camaro V6 to it in any way shape or form at this point. The SS? We shall see, when it comes out. |

Probably performance. If you've ever been in the cockpit of a G35 or G37, you would know this is Luxurious autombile. But from a chassis (independant rear) and SIDI 3.6L V6, the Mustang is not in that league. It just doesn't have the hardware. So if you want a coupe with that level of hardware, you aren't looking at the Ford, but more like a G37.
But a pretty well loaded 2LT RS is only 29,000 or so with delivery so still a bargain for the chassis/powertrain sophistication you get with the Camaro. Just paying another 8,000 for the Infiniti's interior. IMO

read most of this thread and noticed that the camaro had not even come out yet. Had anyone got any new information to bring to this debate seeing not that 09 loaded v6 accords can be had for 26-28k while the loaded 2lt/rs are going for 29-33k and being few and far between.

Well to be fair, they may be discounting the 09 models to make way for the 2010s. However, the accord and 2LTs are still right in the same prices range, so they are still competitors. But really, who wants a somewhat less boring looking Accord when compared to a 2LT/RS?
