Is plastidip worth it?

So I am curious if plastidip is worth putting on the wheels? Does it make the wheels look cheap? How durable is it for daily driving? I never hit curbs or go down gravel/dirt roads. I am contemplating this option instead of having them painted.

It actually holds up pretty well!!

You will use about 1 can per wheel.

If you don't like it, peel it right off!

Had plastidip on my wheels for over 6 months and there is no sign of wear on them. I have curbed my tire once or twice as well as drive on gravel roads every few weeks.

I think it looks great and you can't really tell that it is plastidip from a distance.

Here is my car with my wheels plastidipped:

Overall it holds up well, but it can stain easily. However for the cost, can can plasti-dip your wheels a dozen times for the cost of powdercoating them...

Sounds like all your answers to durability and appearance have been answered above.

Not to knock those who have plasti-dipped, but it's not a permanent solution and produces marginal temporary results. Might be a good idea if you're trying a particular look on for size (i.e. blacked out wheels).

But, if you want professional results, and something that holds up long-term, have your wheels professionally painted, powder-coated, clear-coated, baked, and all that good stuff.

It works for me. Takes some time to do it right, but it's cheap enough to experiment. Just be sure to PREP correctly and you'll do fine.

This is 6 coats of Anthracite Gray and 4 coats of Glossifier. I use Adam's Super VRT to keep the PlastiDip clean.

Use Dip Coat from dipyourcar, it will make the plastidip a lot more durable and it will get rid of the rubber feeling and also deepen the black

If you are wanting a high gloss look, then you will be very disappointed with the plastidip/glossifier.

For matte black, plastidip works great.
