I've been galavanting across the country for a couple of weeks and also searching high or low for a standard cab 2WD Silverado or GMC in the 99-06 vintage with the 5MT 4.8L combo in either black or white. It's like looking for a unicorn. Found this in OK this week so I drove my red 98 Silverado 5MT 5.0 out and traded it for this:

It drives real well. Goal is something like this RST gem.

Except with lime green stripes of course LOL.

I think we're waiting for the custom clutch to be completed. Decided not to go with the Spec after all. Hunter feel free to PM me. I'm not in a huge rush right now because I wouldn't be driving it anyway with all the salt and gravel they keep dumping on the roads in anticipation for all of the snow that never seems to materialize. Maybe Jesse could post some pics of the Brembo's.

I spoke to Jesse last Friday and the tranny was out of the car awaiting the new clutch and that's the last update I had but again I've been traveling around a lot too...vacationing is exhausting lol should have stay-cationed. Hope that helps.

I'm sure with the Holidays not much gets done. I know my kids go back to school on Tuesday. I think for a lot of ppl normal life resumes when the kids go back to school.

Thank you Derrick. Can't wait to see how your LFX project turns out. This whole FI sojourn has been a learning process for sure.

Right now just trying to figure out which mods I wanna do to this Silverado. Been looking a lot on the Regency web sight. Their rollpan and exhaust tips look killer.

The exhaust right now is mainly with a Flowmaster weld-in and a turndown. It's seriously one of the best sounding truck I've heard not running a cam so I'm hesitant to mess with it.

I'm learning that the 4.8 and its shorter stroke does really well with FI muwahahaha. The 5MT is a hoot. I really enjoyed my 98 but its just the wrong color and the 5.0 has less aftermarket support than my LLT lol.
But the new one caused me to only miss it for a second or two.

KM, you are so right. Trucks are awesome to have. Wanna have some fun with it while keeping it practical and feeling ok about throwing stuff in the bed to haul when I need to.

The sound of it makes my too cool for school 13 year old grin like a fool. It makes this 47 year old kid grin like a fool too.
