LOL. Yea, if I ever get a weird feeling talking to a mechanic or speed shop about a mod, I usually walk away with a smile on my face knowing I have made the right decision.

It was just weird reading all these practical reasons for making the decision, then your much more...emotional one.

Maybe I'm lazy, but driving an hour one way to get this done seems like a big PITA compared to the 15min swap involved with the Vmax piece. BTW - you do realize that you get the core charge refunded to you when you return the stock TB?

and once you get your Vmax installed just return your core. I paid an extra 15 bucks to have a shipping label created so all i am going to have to do is just drop it off at a UPS outlet.

It was a no brainer for me since Vmax is a few towns over. I went to the shop and picked one up, swapped it in the parking lot. Got a few stickers too. Saw the shop BS'd about cars and made a few contacts.
Now a buddy of mine with a G8 got one from a local tuner who is a known quantity and couldn't be happier. RPM last I heard is a well known quantity and the same price. It's up to you though. I know you can't go wrong with the Vmax and probably can't go wrong with the one from RPM.

VMAX is proven, trusted and reliable. That would be my choice.

If I remember correctly VMax did a lot of flow testing to get the optimum design. Since it is now done by a computer controlled C&C machine every one is consistently done. Ask the person doing the porting, if they have done any flow testing and how consistent is their porting method. If they can't give you a good answer to those questions I would go with the VMax. I have one on my car and couldn't be happier with it.

Zero drivability issues... The car seemed way more responsive and got rid of some low end bucking the car had stock. I recently put down 432HP/422TQ with basically thee mods... ADM Race Intake (includes scoop), Vmax TB, and a set of Pfadt Catted LT's. I also replaced the factory H-Pipe with a Magnaflow resonated X-Pipe. Jeremy Formato did the Dyno Tune. The numbers even surprised him. He was expecting 15-20 less... Stock on a similar DynoJet the car put down 368HP/365TQ. Obviously the contributors to those numbers went in this order LT's, ADM Intake, Vmax TB, Magnaflow X-Pipe... The TB is maybe worth 5+ HP but it helps dramatically with throttle response and drivability. That's the main reason to get one.
