Best Way To Clean Polished Wheels?? and another chrome cleaning question.

I've got 6200 miles on my 1ss with the polished wheels, and now it's like the wheels have lost that luster and that polished look, and seem to always look like shit. i clean them every week or so, beacuse the car is only driven on the weekends. what do you guys recommend me using to bring back that luster and polished look on my camaro 20's??

Another question, My colorado has 22" american racing RT-S chrome rims and on 2 of the rims it looks like it's been hit with salt or something, it kind of feels like overspray on a car honestly. what would be the best way to get this feel and stuff off of the trucks rims and get it back smooth feeling??

Thanks for reading both of my questions, and thanks in adcvance guys

Jordan

Your camaro has clear powdercoat over the polished rims. Use wax or Zaino on them (same thing you use on your paint)

The chrome rims on your colorado should use chrome polish.

Use a citrus cleaner on them to remove the road film and brake dust.brake dust is very corrosive. Then use a good wax.In between you can use windex to remove the brake dust

If there is clear powder coat on them he should not be having a problem.I do powder coating and it should look the same as the day he got it

If the clear coat needs a little extra help you can use a light rubbing compound on them, go over it twice with light to medium pressure then finish with a good wax. good luck

The Polished Wheels have a clear coat OF PAINT over them from the factory.

So do the MS painted 20's . You treat them the same.

Would you use a citrus cleaner or Windex on your hood?

It IS NOT A CLEAR POWDER COAT ! FFS !

This is what I use :
http://wheelwax.com/catalog/product_...d9aa5ae238b878

Out of all the products I have used for my wheels , this cleans , polish , seals/protects the best and it lasts along time

And when it comes to the tires I use this :
http://wheelwax.com/catalog/product_...d9aa5ae238b878

I get 10% off on these products !

You can use the citrus cleaner to remove road tar with no problems and windex is great on chrome wheels and bumpers

Exactly !. I use nothing but the very mild car wash soap I use on the body. Anything stronger, including Windex will dull the clear coat on polished wheels in short order. It is also important to keep brake dust and here in the North East road salt off them.
