That local C.O.P.O. car that I was talking about earlier was at a show I went to. It appears to have been delivered to Nickey Chevrolet. Here are some pics:

These two are fuzzy. All of the fuzz is from dust on the mirror. Trust me, the underside is spotless. I was trying to show all of the paint dabs and markings. They are all there.

Window sticker. Not a bad deal for $3913.18, base for Camaro V-8 including destination was $2873.00

A few more:

Yes, that name rings a bell. It was on the plaque in front of the car if I am not mistaken.

Looks like it is pushed down a little bit from the hood.

Now that I look at it, I believe it's inside out (which is how they ship them)...

It would be a shame for your car to buckle because the bracing is removed. If you have a built motor you can twist the car even easier.

I was at Englishtown Dragway and saw a guy with a mint restored 1970 Nova. Obviously the car had a motor that was heavy built and was very healthy. When he lined up and the tree dropped his car hooked up hard and lifted the left front wheel. Within about 2-3 car lengths his windshield popped out and his left front wheel never touched the ground even when stopped. Point being, he has way to much horsepower to have not added more structural support and in return destroyed his car to where it probably can never be repaired.
The car does not have the Xbrace support, but soon will. I'm in the process of ordering a Hotchkis Xbrace & Subframe Connectors and one of their TVS Systems. I'll post some pics when we get it finished, Thanks Talwell

Here's a picture of the cowl seal on our Camaro...notice how it stands up tall, whereas it looks like you could roll the seal on the orange car inside out again and the groove you can now see would seat on the top half of the ac assembly as normal.

[btw, I'm not being critical, as we installed ours incorrectly on our first '69 way back when also...]

That cowl hood seal is installed upside down on Jim's car. There is a little lip that should wrap around the metal base and it is clearly visible on the top of the seal in that engine picture.

The seal manufacturer ships the seals "flipped" inside-out and you have to flip them outside-in before you install them. You will see the seals installed wrong frequently if you look at a lot of cars out there. The seal should look like this when it is installed properly:

Jim was a shop teacher where I went to High School back in the 70's. He has allways had some real amazing beautiful show winning cars. He had (or may still have) one of the prettiest '55 Chevy convertables in existance. Black with a red interior and a white top. It won best paint in the Clutch Artists Autorama with nothing more than a plain straight black paint job. Outstanding.

That COPO is a clone from what I have read. Nice car but I doubt the paperwork would stand up. I have no issue with a nicely built clone but let's not fabricate the docs. Show it for what it is.

I have heard it was a clone as well, but when he takes it to a show he puts up the "Don't Judge" sign in it usually. At this show it was not judged. I have no problem with clone cars at all, except when it comes time to sell them. Then the owner had better fess up to it being a clone and not the real deal. Whether his car is a clone or not is moot, since he owns it and drives it, and enjoys it. It is amazingly accurate, some of you guys are getting so critical of the rubber piece on the air cleaner, lol. I just thought the OP would like to see it since it is the same color/engine combo as his.

Exactly...I'd never really noticed how frequently it happens, until someone pointed it out at a show years ago.

That doesn't mean much any more...most of the time, we opt out of judging on our stuff.

Next time you see this car at a show - tell the owner to buy the correct spare for it. I am sure they spent more than $100k on restoration of this car - and it appears very correct. After building a car so perfect and correct - why would you not spend the extra $1000 to get the correct spare and jack for it?

Also, the stickers on the inside of the trunk lid are incorrectly placed. Other than these few things - this is an absolutely gorgeous car.
