BMW Turbo Gullwing

I have always thought the Bracq 1972 Gullwing was a nice looking and more interesting car, than the later Giugiaro e26 M1. With an uprated 2 liter 2002 Turbo engine (200 hp) it could do 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds and 155 mph. So not much slower than the better known M1.

BMW owns all the Turbos today, one had 260 hp and the cars weighed 2,100 lbs. At 74 inches wide they weren't legal in Germany, too wide. Some advanced tech were cruise control warning if you got too close to the car in front, and a lateral g readout.

It’s an intriguing car. You can certainly see it’s influence on the M1.
