Deer hit SGM SS

Just my luck a deer would hit me on Mexico Rd in St. Peters. In case you didn't know it's a pretty busy street. Luckily it hit me from the side and only cause a few dents and damaged a little bit of the clear coat.

Just got back from deployment and only been driving this for about a month before I was hit. The estimate is in and it will cost about 1700 to fix. I was told that they will have to repaint the door and the left quarter panel and that scares me cause I have heard about it being difficult getting the paint match for the SGM. I also purchased the "Auto Armor" wax which apparently lasts 7 years and now I will have to wait 90 days before they can apply it. I hope they follow through with that. And I have custom stripes on the door that will have to be replaced so I hope that isn't a problem.

Overall, I can still drive it but I feel embarrassed with the dents....Hope all works out. I have night pics of it but I'll get some day pics tomorrow.

Awww man that sucks! I hit a dear 2 years ago borrowing my gf car. Deer came out of no where but was almost running the same way as the car but at a slight angle headed at the car. Deer bounced off the car slightly and it made a small dent on the drivers door but i was so freakin pissed. I would rather something happen to my own car not a car i am borrowing from someone else.

I'm sorry to bring this up but there is no way any wax in the world would last 7 years

That sucks! I know we have a lot of deer around here, but I swear there are worse places. Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Tennessee, especially from about now to Christmas.

lscamaro- Yeah it seems skeptical but so far the "Auto Armor" has made the car shine for up to week before it starts getting dirty and it still looks decent even when it needs a wash. I personally don't think it will last 7 years but I paid 700 bucks for it and I would hope they re-apply it with no complaints. USAA seems pretty good about holding their end of the bargain up though. I will have it taken into the shop on October 1st. It should take about a week. Let's hope it looks exactly the way it did before the accident.

I really lucked out on the deer hit though. I've heard some bad stories but luckily in my case no one was hurt. Just angry that it happened to me I suppose. The Camaro took it like a champ though! All I heard was a pop and the car just kept going. Built like a tank! I need to go hunting this year to bring the deer population down....
