JP Superior Solutions New Product

5th Gen Suspension Pornography

• Direct Factory Part Replacement
• 1” Drop from Factory Knuckle
• Maintains Original Equipment Control Arm Geometry
• Maintains Original Equipment Suspension Travel
• 100% Compatible with Original Equipment Magnetic Ride Control and Adjustable Suspension Damping
• Supports Aftermarket Coilover Suspension Applications
• Machined from Billet 6061 T-6 or 7075 T6 (solutionized and artificially aged) Aluminum
• Original Equipment Elastomeric Bushings are Replaced with Race Ready Rebuildable Monoballs with Spiral Retainers and O-Rings

The 5th Gen Camaro (2010+) OE knuckles are solid, but come with some limitations. Made of cast aluminum, there are no bushings in the front knuckles. The rear knuckles have sealed monoballs that are not a serviceable part from GM installed for the upper and lower control arms and an elastomeric bushing for the trailing arm. When they wear out, the complete knuckle must be replaced. And they do wear out, as drivers that track their Camaros have learned.

OE Camaro knuckles are essentially the same in function across the range of 5th Gen models, with the exception of the Z/28. The Z/28 has special high durometer elastomeric bushings installed for the trailing arm. Under high load, high heat conditions the standard OE rubber trailing arm bushing soften considerably, which is why the Z/28 uses Tenneco yellow bushings to improve control under all operating conditions.

JPSS 5th Gen Camaro Knuckle Drops are machined from 7075 T6 billet aluminum, which is stronger than cast iron and considerably stronger than the OE cast knuckle. All the OE bushings are replaced by JPSS sealed rebuildable monoballs for optimal control under all operating conditions, regardless of temperature. Cost was not a consideration in the design of the JPSS Camaro Knuckle Drop. Our engineering goals focused on predictable and consistent function regardless of use and track conditions. Once you experience the performance of the JPSS Knuckle Drop, we are confident you will agree we met our goals.

We are huge fans of the 5th Gen Camaro IRS – there is a lot of grip designed in, and it puts down power better mid-corner on than the C6 or C7 Corvette. But, the excellence of the IRS combined with the forward weight bias and narrower front track means that the 5th Gen understeers. The OE Camaro front knuckles use virtual pivot technology similar to a BMW, but the IRS sticks better than the front virtual pivot. Understeer is somewhat reduced on the 5th Gen through semi-square OE wheels and tires, along with more aggressive sway bars on the 1LE and Z/28. Increasing front wheel negative camber would help more, but there is limited adjustment available with OE or aftermarket wheels / tires.

JPSS designed the front 5th Gen Camaro Knuckle Drop with an additional 5mm of track, and modified the position of the upper ear. Together, these changes allow the front strut to lean further in for increased negative camber adjustment. The additional track width helps reduce understeer, even with staggered wheel and tire fitments. JPSS achieves all this while maintaining the symmetry and geometry of the OE arm operation for the virtual pivot front suspension. The OE dust shield installs without modification.

Our experience tracking 5th Gen Camaros since 2009 tells us that lowering significantly improves the car’s center of gravity. Unfortunately, lowering a 5th Gen Camaro with coils or coilovers distorts the range of motion of IRS rear arms and increases rear negative camber. For illustration and discussion purposes, if there is a 6” arc the rear suspension arms travel through, they can move 3” up and 3” down. If you lower the Camaro 1 ½”, the upper arm can only travel 1 ½” up, but 4 ½” down. The upper control arm travel is cut in half before entering a hard stop.

The JPSS 5th Gen Camaro Knuckle Drop lowers ride height by 1” without any compromise of IRS suspension function. Arm travel and arm geometry remain the same as OE, and jounce travel is unchanged. The car’s center of gravity is lowered, but without any compromises in suspension operation. Front track is increased, which reduces understeer, and front negative camber adjustment is significantly improved.

JP Superior Solutions offers only premium performance products that are built without compromises using the finest available materials and components. Each JPSS product is comprised of wear components (like monoballs, O-rings, etc) and non-wear components. Our non-wear components are designed to be almost indestructible. The JPSS warranty is simple: If a non-wear component breaks for any reason other than damage from physical impact, we fix or replace it. All wear components are serviceable, and JPSS sells individual parts and rebuild kits for all our products.

The manufacturing costs of the Knuckle Drop are unfortunately very high. We have asked and are still holding out a sliver of hope that we can find 10 buyers for thie advanced deign product at a cost of $5,900 per kit. We need 10 orders to break even. If you are a serious buyer, please PM me today.

About JPSS

JPSS conceives, engineers and manufactures the highest quality components to meet the needs of automotive enthusiasts. Every component is tested and proven to meet the obsessive standards of the most demanding people we know, our clients. The JPSS difference goes beyond the quality of our components. It is an experience. We are committed to listening to our clients and guiding them through the decision process to deliver a solution that exceeds their expectations. Our interest is not making a single sale. Our interest is in building relationships that last a lifetime.

When JPSS begins new product evaluations we analyze it through the eyes of the factory engineers. We ask a lot of what if questions. What if curb clearance wasn't a consideration? What if the RWHP was increased by 50%? 100% What if this part were made only for the enthusiast that wanted only the best? What are the best attributes of the original equipment part? What are the weaknesses? What can we do to make it better? Will it be the best of the best available?

When you purchase a JPSS component, you can be confident it will fit like an original equipment part. It will be more robust than the part it replaces. JPSS components are designed to deliver years of service to the most demanding drivers. Our warranty is straightforward. If it breaks, we’ll replace it. If it wears out, we have a rebuild program. If you are unhappy, we will find a way to make you smile. JPSS products will perform as described, meet and exceed your expectations. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with a JPSS part, return it for a full refund.

Once you are in, there is only one way out. Heath will always be on my TEAM. BlackJack is Premier. Glen has a 1LE waiting for early release product.
