Is there something wrong with my ZL1

I,m new to the forum and will post pictures of my car as soon as I can figure out how to do it. I purchased in January 2018 a red 2014 ZL1 manual with 9,700 miles. The car was in perfect like new condition. I'm learning how to drive the car and am getting much better and feel more confident.

Here's the problem, or it may not be a problem, or it just might be the driver. I tried my first burnout. I brought the car to 4,000 rpm's at a stand still and let the clutch out quickly and put the gas to the floor. The tires attempted to turn over and the engine took a dump. I tried it two more times with the same results. Is there something wrong with my car????? I hope the experts on here can help. Thanks Bill

I never got burnouts. I just like going faaaast.

Either get a line lock, or quickly tap the TC button twice.

You need to hold the TC button down for a couple of seconds and both lights will come on. This will turn off all of the nannies.

Forgot to tell you I did tap the traction control buttons twice and both lights were on.

Try it by holding down the button for 8 seconds. That turns everything off. That should certainly create a burnout, especially if you are running cold 9700-mile g2 tires.

Tapping it twice quickly puts you in launch control.

Try either tapping once. Tapping once turns traction control off but leaves stabilitrack active.

Holding it down for 7-10 seconds turns both off.

Could be traction control/or yaw control kicking in. Car sounds healthy otherwise.

You certainly don't need to rev to 4000 either. Maybe if you are just learning to drive it, you should leave them on and pass on the burnouts. It's one thing if you are warming the tires at the track, it's another to just burn up tires. (wait until you have to buy new ones )

Have fun, be careful.

Every time I get in my Camaro I spend the first 10 seconds holding that button down until both lights popped up. Also, we recommend some mods and a tune. That always helps out on the burnouts lol.

Well the information that the many gave me resulted in a small burnout. That was my first and last.

No joy? I think you'll find plenty of enjoyment in tracking, dragging, daily driving and some spirited driving the Z.

That's exactly my car: red w/ black wheels and sunroof, sans the mods.

Sweet ride!
