Cam swap, now low oil pressure…
Damn the luck! Guess I pinched the oring when installing the new oil pump the second time… Looks like I’ll be going back in there to put a new oring on. I only have 15psi at hot idle. Not tuned yet, just initial start up. So maybe 600 rpm, but since I installed a Mellng 10295 and fresh oil, darn should have better than 15psi.
Not looking forward to ripping it all apart again. |

If you remove the oil pan completely, you can install the pickup tube carfully and not gamble on the O-ring pinching.
To be able to remove oilpan engine still in the car, I cut the small crossmember off and made flanges to it to be bolted back on.

The reason I ask is when I changed my pump the second time I went with the 10295 and my pressure went down to 15 psi. It was because I have an l99 with vvt and it has a high-volume pump and when I went with the 10295 it is a high-pressure standard volume. So, then I changed it out back to a high-volume pump and my pressure was back to normal. I know this probably doesn't help just thought I would through it out there.

Appreciate the comments from you all. I hope to have another go at this over the weekend. Fingers crossed a new oring fixes it. If not I’ll probably order another pump and try again.
