Stabilitrac Issues Question
No current issues on my end, but exploring to possibility of running different diameter tires front/rear. I get that stabilitrac will not like this, but wonder.....
Is there a tolerance between the two diameters that can be exploited before issues arise? If so, what is it? Stock diameter is 28.7". Will all four tires being a different diameter than that, but the same as each other, trigger issues? Say going to 27.2" on all four corners? I assume at least some of these issues can be tuned around? Example, is it possible to run a 1" smaller dia tire up front than out back and tune around stabilitrac issues? Pardon my ignorance on all of this. I understand why stabilitrac has these issues (basically anyway), I just don't know where the limits are on what can be done about it to keep systems happy, or at what point they just have to get tuned out, if the latter is even possible? Thanks |

Hey there. In my past days of messing around with different tire diameters and width's, I have gone as far as a 1 inch difference in diameter front to back with NO issues with my ABS system. I ran a 275/35, which is 27.6 diameter on a 10 inch wide wheel on the front, and a 315/35 which is 28.7 diameter on an 11 inch wheel on the rear.
