I'd imagine road racing takes place with other cars as well right? Wouldn't being in a pack deflect air away from some cars not at the head?

Can you explain... are the Torq numbers on the aftermarket HE too high also? From what I see the aftermarket HE w/ fans dropped IAT's by ~10 degrees which doesn't seem like much. I'm just not sure what the acceptable range is.

Quoted from Torq..
"At WOT in boost the stock tune pulls 2 degrees at 104F and 6 degrees at 128-130 with 3-4 at 125 "

This to me means you would need to upgrade the H/E and change the tune to keep from pulling timing at WOT.

I've not done any actual testing, but numerous friends have mentioned how much more heat my car gives off compared to theirs... I mostly wrote it up the the heavy right foot and the HP this furnace makes...

Edit: the down pipes pictured are 2.5 inches in diameter, we cut those off and put a 3" down pipe in it's place... and three inch exhaust all the way out the back.

Edit: That's actually one of the old turbo's. That's a 62/65, and the new ones are 67/66's

that looks like a sick setup, pic alone put a on my face.

I'm not going to argue with you guys. But, that chart has nothing to do with road racing. (note the ZL1 plot starts at 110 at the start of the dyno pull) Show me IAT data log on the track. I've seen the LSA on engine dyno running rated power all day. As long at the coolant flow to the manifold coolers stays cool, IAT won't get out of control.

Also, I will add that heat soak and elevated IAT are not always the same thing. The engine might have an elevated IAT at rated power to some degree no matter what. But that is not necessarily heat soak.

I've heard that was just with longtubes, a tune, slicks, and some suspension work. That's absolutely disgustingly fast if that's accurate.

Once it's no longer stock I'm no longer interested. Back, way back, when I was 17 one of the guys was putting 9's down all day in a street legal but modded '67 'Stang. We also had a bunch of cars in the 10's and my Cougar could run low 12's so, meh.

Stock is overrated imo, but I've never owned a stock car for more than a few days

Used to mod when I was younger and kid free but no time for that now, so instead I buy a few cars for different purposes every few years. Miss building a car, maybe I'll do that when retired.

I hear you... I got completely out of performance cars for years, due to family responsibilities...

Now I work 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off... so, fortunately I have the time...
