Missing piece on wiper arm?

I had the hood open today showing off the engine at a family gathering and we noticed this cover missing from the passenger side wiper arm. This little cover is there for the drivers side. Just wondering if I lost mine some where or if it absent on all cars. Not a big deal, just curious. The hood totally covers it when closed anyway.

It looks like you lost the cover guy. Mine has the cover on both. Your car looks like it needs a bath too!

Actually it is pretty clean. That is just from having the wiper/washers on. All the combines are out around here and crops are coming off. Pretty dusty.

Dealer should replace for you, very very common issue. If they don't, GM part number is 10341324 for your records..

Both of mine became brittle and the tabs broke off six months after I bought the car
but I haven't gotten around to replacing them yet.

My old '01 Tundra had the same problem. Under that cover were three very thin tabs that were supposed to hold on to the wiper arm nut, but easily broke off. I ended up epoxying it to the nut, since you rarely remove the wiper arm.
