2011 1ss within 300 miles motor got the L99 tick when starting drove me nuts. Went to start it 3 days ago and the motor knocked for 2 mins straight ever since its been quite on every start no tick no knock . I got an oil change and they said a lifter might have got stuck. has 2700 miles on it now and runs like a bat out of hell . anyone else run into this?

I'll wager it's an exhaust leak

I had the lfiters replaced a few weeks ago under warranty. Dealer has a TSB on the AFM lifters. I can tell you, that it will not go away on its own. Time to make an app with the dealer.

I've gone thru stuff like this with my L99 camaro. Some days it ticks, some days it doesn't. One day it ran really rough when I started it.. Ect.. It's just the way these motors are, noisy.. It's fine..

Can you post a PDF of it ? But to be honest with you I've gotten over the tick when I start it.

Same here, some days I can hear it no problem, others perfect. Runs awesome regardless!

Yep, I have this problem too. Some times when i start the car I cringe with the very loud ticking. Other time i hear nothing.

Can we get the TSB? My camaro ticks on cold startups, and it bothers the hell out of me.

Mine does it as well every start! Very loud from the passenger side? Mine sits for sometimes weeks without starting so when I start it for friends or fam to show itboff it Sounds like a piece of shite.... My 99 LS1 sits right beside it and starts up sounding like a bad boy... Is there a SB???

No issues with mine through 1700+ miles, hope it stays that way.

Try Frontline. I hear it's good not for only fleas, but ticks too.
