So I come with facts and research, and you choose to attack the font I used in my signature picture? Very mature. Well, that font isn't anything like the Arabic script I saw while serving overseas in the U.S. Army or anything, but it does look like graffiti, so...yeah. Nice try though.

And as far as your catch can working "just fine"...Have you run tests on it to verify that it's actually working as you suggest? Like the simple inline fuel filter pass-through test, or any more elaborate testing? Yeah, I didn't think so.

Good day, sir.

It's the clean-side separator. Keeps oil from being sucked out of the clean side as well, pretty much.

Here is the Camaro 1LE factory supplied oil separator that arrives in the car trunk at delivery time.
Have one but did not install it yet, marked for track use only. To stop oil ingestion through the twistys.
Read that there is no special steel wool condensation mechanism inside and it is sealed; self draining back in to the valve cover.

Good write-up in this thread:

FYI the reason it does not have any type of mesh inside it is because the clean side is not nearly as important as the dirty side. So to save on cost it's just baffled or something.

Ideally you'd want a wool type material in clean and dirty side, but it's more expensive and complicated that way. The clean side will only experience flow from the valve cover (oil filler in this case) under extreme WOT, whereas the PCV side will always have flow into the intake manifold, even at idle (quite a bit actually, I found out)

The Elite cleanside separator is made of 6061 T6 billet aluminum and has stainless steel coalescing media in the chamber to contain the oil more effectively, and at less than 100% is nearly 1/2 the cost of the plastic GM unit. It also has no winter freeze concerns like the plastic units do.

Great way to complete ANY catch can installation.

I was about to purchase an elite oil catch can but was wondering what is the difference between nylon hoses and rubber hoses other than locks? Also do you have to empty the oil catch can every time you have an oil change? Thank you for your help

Looks is mainly part of it, although you can hear the air rushing through the tubes a bunch more in the rubber ones. I think the braided ones would help on the noise. You can hear mine at idle, and listen to when I pinch the line off (you can barely see it, but listen) http://sendvid.com/nc4yxyc4

As for emptying, it depends on how you drive lol. I would check it periodically to see how full it is, so you have a gauge on how often you need to empty it. For example, check it at 100 miles, 500 miles, 1000 miles, etc, until you get a feel for how fast it fills up. It's easy to check, just screw off the bottom (this is why I got it over the Rx or any of the other designs)
