Volt and Leaf not selling well, Volt sells just 281 cars in Feb.

http://green.autoblog.com/2011/03/01...ssan-67-leafs/

Which in itself is a massive jump over the Leaf's 67 cars!

I thought the Volt was going to be a huge hit and sell like hotcakes? Afterall..its the 2011 Car of the Year!! One must wonder if this trend will continue into future months. Apparently the 281 number is down from Jan's numbers.

No kidding, two cars that are currently in very limited production, one of which is sold only in select markets aren't selling a ton of units every month?

Stupid thread is stupid.

the Volt could pack up and head back to to the scrap yard tomorrow and nobody in the US would notice.

I absolutely disagree...in the worst way possible.

The Volt was never expected to sell more than a few hundred a month in it's infancy. Give it time, and it'll sell. Not like a Malibu or Cruze...but it'll sell just fine. By all expectations its off to a great start.

TET, you may be right, but only because it's so new. It will seel great once it's advertized and seen on the street.

The Volt like stated was never intended to be a mass produced car like most think. The limited markets that it is sold in is also a reason for the low sales. I still look to the tech that the volt brings to the market (and hope for a diesel electric). These cars are never intended to be wholesale replacement for current cars just an alternative and hope for better alternatives in the years to come.

Yeah, a car that's been on sale for only three months, in limited production, and sold only in select markets until production can ramp up is an epic failure.

People here are hilarious.

In any case, the Volt is destroying the cheaper Leaf in sales. Then again, Nissan completely botched that launch...

New technology costs $. They will go down by next year. Take the $7,500 tax break off the sticker and it's really not that bad.
