OEM ZL1 Catback on SS

I believe this has been covered before but I just wanted to check again. I have been looking at exhaust options for my 2011 SS, but to me they are all pretty expensive considering there is little to no HP benefit. I found someone locally selling the OEM NPP catback from a 2013 ZL1, from what I've read this should bolt right up to my SS as long as I get the 2013 1LE diffuser. I know the valves will be open all the time, but I've watched some clips and it sounds great to me with factory manifolds and cats. It also looks like this system is a bit lighter since there are no resonators and the mufflers are smaller. I prefer the look of the quad tips as well. Am I missing anything?

I have never installed an NPP on an early 5th gen, but I just picked one up and I see no reason it would not bolt up. I sold the mufflers to pay for the whole deal so now I have a spare exhaust for when I need it.

Exhaust system

They should bolt up with no issues since it’s the same system on the 1LE and the 1LE is a SS. You can make your own control for the valves there are threads on it.
Currently running a full Z28 system from my HF Cats back, the Z system is 2 3/4 bs the SS/ZL 2 1/2 pipes. Sounds really good.

Just an FYI, not all 1LE's have the NPP diffuser, NPP was an option

BUT, all the 1LE's did have the quad tip diffuser... I believe. Weather it had the NPP or not.. They didn't come with single tip exhaust.

Actually, they did come with the single tip diffuser if they were not optioned with npp. I sat in one at my local dealership back in 2015 that was not optioned with it. But few and far between are the 1les that did not have npp, every one I have seen in the wild has had the box checked for it.

I can back that up. My 1LE is a dual-tip one. It came with a dual tip diffuser.
The only option the previous owner of my 1LE checked was the RS package.

Well I stand corrected!! I didn't know that. Out of all the info I do have, THAT one slipped by me. I;ve never seen one. Thanks.

He didn't get NPP for free, it was an $895 option, I ordered mine and I did the box checking myself, and BeckyD put the order in for me

I don't have the NPP. Because the previous owner did not option it. That is what I was referring to.
