Muscle meets History
So the other day my buddy (who has a new '13 Mustang) and I decided we were going to take the following picture with our cars.
This is located at the Apollo 1 Launch Pad where the Astronauts died during a "plugs-out test." American Muscle meets American History. |

Which one's 'muscle' and which is 'history'?
I still favor the Mustang... but the Camaro is sure as hell growing on me. |

How were you able to get the cars out there?

We work out there. We were passing the site after work and thought it would be a brilliant idea.

I prefer the mustang. Only three things kept from buying one. 1 Mustang did not have the hud. 2 Red Jewel tricoat paint. 3 I am a GM retired so I get a discount.

My wife's new Escape is the Ruby Red metallic... which looks very similar to the Red Jewel (to me). That's an awesome color on the Camaro.

Of course I am biased but I think the Camaro is so much better looking, those headlights on a Camaro just look sinister, sometimes I think they are following me when I walk past my car. The Mustang's lights look "droopy"........to me, so save the harshing, just my opinion, and we know what that is worth.
Lastly a genuine Chevy V8, built to be bad, enough said. |

I think some of them are missing the whole point of the photo. The two cars pictured (does not matter which one is "better") are the muscle. The photo site has all kinds of history. We were at the space center for the start of the 2010 Power Tour, and spent the better part of the day there. Of course we didn't have the access level the OP has.

Ad Astra per Astera. Wonder what they'd think if they were alive today to see how far their sacrifices have taken us.
Nice pic!

Very cool pic rsv! The Apollo 1 sight is sacred ground.
When the Apollo program shut down Deke Slayton mentioned in an interview Gus Grissom would have been the first man on the moon if he had lived. Slayton was the guy who picked the crews. |
