So how are V6 A6 people are getting it to burn out without using the brake? The most I'm able to get is a small chirp off the line - what gives?

I've turned off all the nannies and still can only get a little chirp off the line, I'd really like to be able to smoke them but I just don't think this car has the torque to do it.

Yeah, I have them both turned off. :( What exactly are you guys doing to get them to spin?

I did it using the brake with my auto. The manual is probably a different story.

  1. Turn off TC
  2. Apply enough brake to keep car from moving forward
  3. Apply throttle until tires spin/smoke
  4. Ease off the brake and keep the throttle open to takeoff
  5. Don't Crash!
That worked great for me..lots of smoke You just have to experiment a bit to get a feel feel for how much brake is needed.

Ooops, I almost forgot. If you do it too much, step 6 is: buy new tires

The thought of burning up those expensive tires and throwing rubber road/road debris all over the rear bumper and scratching it up is too much for me to burn em lol....but trust me I want to!

The car has more than enough TQ to do the job...its the nannies and torque management that hold ya back. There are all sorts of 2010/2011 Camaro V6 burn outs on youtube.

Just follow the tips above. Also, just a thought, but the heat this time of year will put a hurt on the car's performance, and especially sitting still and reving the engine is going to produce heat soak.

you can smoke them (it?) up to 3rd with the stock steel wheels.. the RS wheels w/ Pzero's require some usage of brakes..
