The 8 speed will rip the ZL1 a new one. 6 speed manual might not be that dramatic.

They haven't announced static numbers yet, 600+ is what they've written.
This sounds very exciting. |

Time for the 6th gen ZL1 (if made) to up its game. I'm kind of surprised GM hasn't already. It would be very simple to go over 600 with just a smaller pulley and a factory CAI (like the Z28). Make it standard for 15 (or should have for 14) and sell the parts as upgrades for the previous years.
Now let's see if Dodge blows it by sticking skinny tires on the car like the SRT (and even RT). I know it says bigger tires, so we will see. |

I'm sure it's fast. Not sure it makes the junk the rest of the car is made of worth it.

I have always loved the look of the Challenger but when I was debating muscle cars it really was not in the mix because of it's performance. This might get the Mopar fans something to cheer about because they need it. That is one angry bunch of people over there! Going through some of their forums and all I could think of was how pissed off they are at the Chevy and Fords just because they are on a different level. I am glad to be a ZL1 owner and have a forum that makes you feel good when you log off!

Bring it on.
I love seeing this muscle car era in my lifetime as I think it may go away with all the BULLSHIT going on in DC. |
