Hawk HPS vs Hawk HPS 5.0

Hey Everyone. Not sure if there is a thread on this already but just wanted your guys opinions. Its time to replace my pads on my SS 1le and i wanted to see if you guys had some insight on the HPS 5.0. Ive had the HPS and honestly loved them for street use. FYI i rarely track so they will be used for 90% street use. Let me know what you guys suggest. Curious regarding noise, bite, brake dust, pad life. Any info helps. Thanks guys!

If you're mostly street use why not go back with the OE brembo pads? I swapped mine out a while ago, very easy to do it yourself

I love autozone ceramic duralast gold the top pads there about 50 bucks, quiet, lil to none dust and when time to replace take them back for another set free as long as they not metal to metal on the pad life

10% track is a lot of track time IMO. I LOVED Porterfield R4S pads on my road racing 240Z, better bite than standard pads even below freezing, but as they warm up they just get better and better. They are dirty and noisy, totally worth it for the performance.

I went from OEM Brembos to Hawks 5.0 and they were good pad for street and occasional light duty track. So the 5.0 pads are good as long as you don't push the pads on the track too much. I wanted more initial bite and ended up jumping to HP Plus pads last year. Noisy and dusty as all get out but that's the trade off.
