Lifter question...

Looking for lifters and a set came up that were branded Jegs; has anyone used them? Who makes them for Jegs? Also what about Crower lifters? What's the best lifter under $300? Don't want to pay Johnson prices if I don't have to....

From what I see, the Crower are just as much or more than Johnson. Dont put Jegs lifters in your engine or cheap stuff. Lifters are not easy to change so put good ones in it.

Johnson 2110 lifters are going for 430 dollars now, for what you get spend the extra 130 bucks.

There are these GM performnac lifters that are a step up from the LS7 right around 300 bucks https://gwatneyperformance.com/produ...ters-88958689/

If money is that tight and you cant wait to save up, run the LS7 lifters like Clark said.

Lifters are very important to durability, performance and noise of your valve-train. Put good ones in and save money somewhere else.

The stock ls3/ls7 lifters are fine, what I am running as well. The actual GM performance lifters, different part number, are a tad better being tested to 8,000rpms.

What about them? They have a bunch of different types. The LS replacement ones are most likely reboxed GM ones, ie whoever makes them.

It was a simple quesion are they any good? Lifters could be like batteries, 1 company makes 90% of batteries for everyone; just rebranded. Lifters could be the same except for the Chinese ones...Maybe your just paying for a name, maybe not! I don't know that's why I asked the question....

But you didn't ask if they were any good, just what about cam motion lifters. I answered the question, you just reiterated what I said. You're over thinking this.

I was looking at those when I had my rebuild done, but went with regular LS7. Those are tested in excess of 7k right? I think a lot of people glance over or miss those when shopping and assume it is just another listing of the regular LS7 lifters. Are they similar design to the 'Cadillac' lifters?
