Awesome you should update this thread with your thoughts on the trans cooler. I’m in the market for one sometime down the road

That is a good ? I have to consider when I get around to this.

There is two screw points just under the hood latch that can be used for mounting a cooler. I have just mounted my oil cooler there. My mishimoto oil cooler has mounting holes top and bottom. I used the top mounting to mount that cooler I might be able to get another cooler mounted to the oil cooler.

Well I have to confess I am not mounting it. Baker engineering is doing the work and they said they would mount it and plumb it for about 100 shinnies so I couldn't refuse.I will let you know and take some pics when it is done. My guess is in front of the radiator or by the lower grill area.

This is the cooler GPI installed when they did work on my car (SS3 Circle D 4f). So far so good. I've been up thru the Blue ridge mountains on the back roads (real curvey-up & down). The highest it read was about 185-190.

That is too small for a stand-alone cooler.

You will want to install that on the OUTPUT (to trans) side of the rad.

TRANS--->RAD--->COOLER-->TRANS

How big of a cooler would you say is big enough for a stand alone unit? I would think stand alone unit would be ideal so temp of engine coolant doesn’t affect trans temp and vice Vera. Or do you think I’m over thinking that?

Also which hose out of the radiator is the return line to the trans? Pass side or drivers side hose?

I had the one from ADM installed on my camaro. The installer bypassed the radiator and just installed it directly to the trans lines.

Did he F up?
