JBA Tip Alignment
First off...
This exhaust sounds friggin wicked. I already did the muffler delete, and that sounded fine, but this is a whole different ballgame. It's barely noticeably louder than a muffler delete at idle, but the tone is much deeper. It screams under load, and growls a lot revving back down. The note is much, much better tuned than the sloppy muffler delete sound. This thing will scare tailgaters off your a$$! I don't know why they even put horns in these cars. To get to the question, my passenger side tip is down a little, and I wasn't able to get it centered by moving the pipes around. On the muffler delete, I just pulled the exhaust out and used a propane torch to heat and bend the hangers into submission. Is that the recommended solution here too? I just figured I'd ask before I started man-handling things. This video is really spot on to what it sounds like. I don't have a camera worth even attempting to record a decent video. His initial reaction was exactly the same as mine

Sounds AMAZING!
The main thing I found with mine was to leave every joint loose and get the tips exactly where you want them. Then start to tighten the system down but if that does not work I would just bend the hangers as that is pretty easy. |

I think i'll have to do that. I left them loose and had someone spot for me. I couldn't get the passenger side to move far enough. At least with this system i don't have to pull the whole catback to bend the hangers...

Get the catback where you want it then bend the hangars. Easy to bend them.

It hangs a little low and outside. It even relaxes enough when it cools down to rattle against the IRS. It just needs a little coaxing.

I was able to get it a lot closer today. I had to loosen all the way up the the exhaust manifolds. I guess I've had those midpipes off so many times that it's not surprising they were a little ****eyed.

Many have had to jack up the pipes higher than they normally sit, specifically in the tunnel brace area, then tighten the clamps. When you release the jack, it should relax to the normal spot. This has stopped many of the "hitting the brace" issue. Not sure what's causing the IRS hitting problem.

Sounds pretty wicked man, but in your second vid from the side view where he told you to start it up and idle it, then rev, I heard some "spark knock" when it started up. Mke sure you are using a quality premium fuel as I got some fuel one time at a station and it did that, didn't go back there again. Had to run that tank out and now I only use Sunoco 93, also I had to do the fuse pull to reset the spark tables to the uppertable. But your car sounds awesome.

Yeah, I haven't put my brace back on yet. It might hit there too. I was going to get some washers before I jacked it back up. I think it was just the midpipe being at wonky angle that threw everything off on that side. It tended to push the last bend towards the wheel more than it should. It's sort of a tight fit between the lower control arm and the diff as it is.
