You got to learn how to drive this car but you get use to it pretty quick.
I parked my other car in its blind spots and adjusted the mirrors so I could see it.

First impression did give me the same feeling. Wide footprint and low visibility all around. Coming from an SUV, this was kind of expected.
It gets better, quite a bit, with time. Now I barely notice it.
You just need to be careful when backing up, mostly.

My wife has been driving ours back and forth to work for the last 2 weeks and hasn't hit or run anything over.....it can't be that bad.

I think a lot of people go on a test drive and do not properly adjust the seat etc... The car IS hard to see out if you dont get the seat at the right height. And you pretty much cannot get rear visibility good in the car, but that isnt a big deal.

YES, of course it feels weird because it has about 400hp more than a Corolla. The clutch is like 200% stiffer, its RWD... It's engineered for performance, so that's why you sit low and why the car is wide.

It takes a little getting used to for everyone. The condition that never changes is 'permagrin' - that feeling you get when you're tearing down the road, rowing through gears, rocketing around all those slow Toyotas, and you're smiling from ear to ear. Then, when you get out of the car, you're still smiling. You just can't stop!!!

Well said.

I say it took me about 2 days to feel comfortable, coming from driving a Suburban. After the 2 days, I didn't want to get back in the Suburban because I felt like a goldfish in a glass bowl.

I never test drove a Camaro, I just bought it. And ultimately fell in love with it.

Backing up sucks. So when I park, I ALWAYS back in.

Know what you are feeling....when I went to pick mine up I hadn't even sat in one and was a little stunned. My wife said is was like looking out of a high tech submarine. On the way home, I kept thinking I was going to scrape the car in the lane next to me, it seemed so wide. This, of course, was just an optical illustion. It only took a couple of days to settle in and feel comfortable with the view and dimensions. After that, it's all fun.

Was hard at first but after the test drive and a couple hours worth of driving I was used to it. Adjustment of the seat and mirrors helps.
